About the Role:
We are looking for an Associate Vice President – ICFR & Controls Governance to lead the execution and continuous improvement of the Bank’s Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework. This role ensures compliance with regulatory expectations (e.g., SCA requirements), robust control design and operation, and integration of financial controls with the Bank’s RCSA and risk governance processes. You will act as a key liaison between Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, and external auditors, driving control excellence and assurance readiness throughout the year. This position reports directly to the EVP & Financial Controller and works closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Audit, and IT.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- ICFR Framework Management
- Maintain, operate, and enhance the Bank’s ICFR framework, ensuring end-to-end coverage of key financial reporting processes and controls.
- Oversee annual ICFR scoping, control documentation, testing, and remediation.
- Review control design and evidence of operating effectiveness.
- Coordinate management self-assessments and control attestations.
- Audit Coordination & Regulatory Assurance
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external ICFR auditors.
- Manage timely and accurate submission of evidence and documentation.
- Track audit findings and ensure sustainable remediation.
- Support SCA annual ICFR attestation and related regulatory submissions.
- RCSA & Control Integration
- Align financial control testing with the enterprise RCSA framework.
- Ensure significant financial reporting risks are captured and monitored.
- Promote consistency between ICFR and non-financial risk control testing.
- Governance, Reporting & Training
- Prepare reports and dashboards for CFO, Audit Committee, and Risk Committee.
- Facilitate training sessions on ICFR methodology and responsibilities.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline control processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8–12 years in financial control, internal audit, or SOX/ICFR within banking or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIA).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ICFR/SOX methodology, COSO framework, and UAE regulatory environment (SCA, CBUAE).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and governance reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage complex projects under tight timelines.
- Prior experience integrating financial controls with RCSA or risk control frameworks is highly desirable.
- Self-starter with a strong control mindset and attention to detail.
